Coach Training
All coaches must complete training before the season begins. Training covers both safety requirements and soccer-specific skills for your age division.
Required Training for All Coaches
Administrative Requirements
- Annual volunteer application (through InLeague)
- Annual background check (through InLeague)
- Livescan fingerprinting (once, unless you move to a new region)
Online Safety Courses
Complete these through AYSOU/eTrainU:
- SafeSport training
- AYSO Safe Haven
- CDC Concussion Awareness
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest awareness
Age-Specific Coach Certification
In-person or online course for your specific division.
Certification by Age Division

How to Enroll
Online Courses
Register through AYSOU/eTrainU. Complete at your own pace before the season.
In-Person Classes
In-person coaching classes are offered August through September at various Southern California locations.

Certification Timeline
- Complete all online courses before the season starts
- Attend in-person class before your first practice
- Certification is valid for the season; some courses require annual renewal
