Team Manager FAQs

Common questions from team managers.

Getting Started

What training do I need?

  • Watch the orientation video and presentation
  • Complete background check
  • Complete Safe Haven training (20 minutes online)
  • Review team manager task documentation

See Manager Training for the full process.

What is the time commitment?

A few hours per week during the season for communication, coordination, and game-day logistics. The workload varies based on how much you delegate to other parents.

Do I need soccer knowledge?

No. The team manager role focuses on organization and communication rather than soccer skills.

Tasks

Which tasks can I delegate?

Nearly all of them. Common delegations include:

  • Snack schedule coordinator
  • Picture day helper
  • Goal setup volunteers
  • Field inspection volunteers
  • End-of-season party planner

How do I set up goal posts?

See Goal Setup for detailed instructions. At Victory Park, arrive 30 minutes before the first game. Equipment is color-coded by age group and stored in the container with the Region 13 logo.

What communication platform should I use?

Spond is recommended if the coach does not have a preference. Other options include team email, text groups, or similar apps.

Picture Day

How do I coordinate picture day?

What if a player misses picture day?

Makeup photo sessions are scheduled. The Picture Day Coordinator will provide dates.
