Getting Started

What do I need to do to volunteer?

  1. Register as a volunteer through InLeague
  2. Complete background check (free, through Sterling Volunteers)
  3. Complete LiveScan fingerprinting (one-time, at Only Stop Travel on Woodbury)
  4. Complete required safety training (Safe Haven, Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest)
  5. Complete SafeSport training (annual renewal)
  6. Complete role-specific training (coach, referee, or team manager)

How long does the background check take?

Allow several days for processing by Sterling Volunteers.

Do I need to renew anything annually?

Yes. SafeSport training requires annual renewal. Background checks are also completed annually.

What if my SafeSport completion doesn’t show in InLeague?

You can manually request status correction by submitting your certification documentation to the appropriate email.

Training

Where do I find training classes?

Register through eTrainU, accessible through your InLeague profile. In-person classes are scheduled in August before the fall season.

  • 8U Coach/Referee: 4 hours

Most training is one-time. SafeSport requires annual renewal.
