Sisterhood of Soccer
The Sisterhood of Soccer is a volunteer initiative dedicated to recruiting and mentoring women referees and coaches, and encouraging girls and women to enjoy soccer at all ages.
Mission
We work to:
- Recruit and mentor female referees and coaches
- Encourage girls and women to participate in soccer throughout their lives
- Build community among female soccer participants in Region 13
Background
The Sisterhood of Soccer was founded on October 27, 2019 by Taj Chiu (Regional Coach Administrator) and Caroline Amicone (Regional Coach Mentor).
Research shows that 94% of female C-suite executives played competitive sports, with over half competing in college. Youth athletic participation provides long-term benefits for girls and women.
How to Participate
The Sisterhood welcomes moms, sisters, and friends interested in coaching or refereeing.
